* The Grateful Dead was a psychedelic jam folk bluegrass rock band that formed in 1965 in San Francisco, California, United States from the remnants of another band, “Mother McCree’s Uptown Jug Champions,” The Grateful Dead were known for their unique and eclectic songwriting style which fused elements of rock, folk music, bluegrass, blues, country, and jazz, and also for live performances of long modal jams. The group disbanded immediately after the death of their frontman, singer/guitarist Jerry Garcia in 1995.

* Over My Dead Body was a straight edge hardcore punk band from San Diego, California, United States that featured former members from Built to Last, Forced Life, Palpatine, Four Walls Falling and Unbroken, lasting from early 2000 to November 27th, 2004. David Kennedy of Box Car Racer, Hazen Street and Angels & Airwaves fame was also in the band for a short period between replacing full time members, but ultimately left, due to commitments regarding Box Car Racer. Along with Aaron Cooley, and Scott Lopian, Kennedy added to the Built To Last alumni.

* Rage Against the Machine is an American rock band, formed in 1991 in Los Angeles, California. The band's line-up comprises vocalist Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk. Critics have noted Rage Against the Machine for its "fiercely polemical music, which brewed sloganeering leftist rants against corporate America, cultural imperialism, and government oppression into a Molotov cocktail of punk, hip-hop, and thrash." * In 2002, From First to Last was formed by guitarist Matt Good and Travis Richter in their hometown of Valdosta, Georgia. Eventually a solid lineup was formed, with vocalist Philip Reardon, guitarist Richter, guitarist Good, bassist Joey Antillon and drummer Derek Bloom. In 2003 The band released the EP Aesthetic on Four Leaf Recordings. At the time, Bloom had been with the band a few weeks and most of the singing was done by Good and Richter as they had provided vocals since the band had formed, where Reardon provided the screaming. By the end of 2003, From First to Last signed to Epitaph.
