* Founded in 1989 by Kai Hansen in Hamburg, Germany after leaving Helloween, Gamma Ray borrowed straight from the Helloween classics, and continued to pioneer Hansen’s style of power metal. After four years with Helloween, Kai Hansen decided to leave the band at the height of their career. He then went on to do some studio work with Blind Guardian.

* The Sound of Animals Fighting are an experimental/prog rock band that incorporated many members, including members from bands such as Finch, Rx Bandits, Circa Survive and Chiodos. The group was brought together by Rich Balling. All parts of the album Tiger and the Duke were recorded individually and each member was only able to hear the part they contributed to the album. The only member who heard the whole album during its recording process was Balling. The group released their next album Lover, the Lord Has Left Us… on May 30th, 2006.

* As for Ken Yokoyama, he started his career as a guitar player back in the late 80's. In 1991, he formed a band called Hi-Standard, and toured all over Japan, North America and Europe until 2000, when they disbanded (get it? band … disbanded … a band that disbanded … never mind). They left the world with three full length albums on Fat Wreck Chords. After a few years of concentrating on running his own label, Pizza Of Death Records, Ken came back to the stage supporting his 1st solo album on which he sings and plays guitar. In 2004, Ken formed his own band, known as the Ken Band, which keeps busy by putting out albums, playing shows and touring like crazy.
